Mentioning that he is writing on the flyleaf of Meredith's "Diana of the Crossways," which he has been reading. Describing his day on the yacht with his family, mentioning his brother (Rowland Corbett Dowson). Praising the beauty and tranquility of the "charming" scenery and stating that "to-day everything is so green & sunny & still that the mere physical sensation of living & slacking is quite enough for me." Noting that he fully intends to "give my whole mind to our future opus," and asking Moore to do likewise. Concluding with thoughts on the other sex, stating "I think it is possible for the feminine nature to be reasonably candid & simplex, up to the age of 8 or 9. Afterwards -- phugh!"
